Narrate Conferences, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, produces dynamic, innovative events for scholars, students, professionals and fans. A driving purpose of our organization is to educate and explore through both traditional and non-traditional interactions, including promoting collaboration among diverse groups. We aim to challenge and inspire both the seasoned academic and the literary enthusiast. By combining elements drawn from academic, professional, media, and other types of conferences, Narrate Conferences creates forward-thinking, engaging educational events.

Narrate Conferences welcomes a wide variety of attendees at its events, including academics, librarians, educators, business professionals, students, writers, artists and fans from around the world. Our events combine a scholarly approach with a welcoming, exploratory atmosphere that appeals to a wide range of people - and encourage collaboration among all attendees, regardless of education or background.

While our goal for each event - participatory and interactive education and exploration - remains the same, our topics will vary widely. Phoenix Rising, the first event presented by Narrate Conferences, Inc., focused on the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling, including the themes of rebirth and the rise of a hero, in historic New Orleans. Phoenix Rising was held in the French Quarter, May 17-21, 2007, with five days of lectures, panels, workshops, discussions and convivial events that explored all things Harry Potter. Narrate Conferences also presented Terminus, which examined the complete Harry Potter series. The next event for Narrate Conferences will be Sirens, which will focus on female fantasy writers and their work, including the heroines they've created.

Future events planned by Narrate Conferences, Inc. include a conference on children's and young adult literature; a series on teen literature targeted specifically at teens, parents, educators and librarians; and a conference focusing on the cutting edge in multimedia studies and education.
